Q:  What is Intense Pulsed Light?

Ellipse Flex IPL hair removal system uses short, safe bursts of light emitted from a flash-lamp to treat specific skin conditions.  The Ellipse Flex IPL system uses a method called photothermolysis for the removal of unwanted hair, the treatment of sun-damaged skin and vascular disorders, i.e. like the small red veins visible on the face.

Q:  How does the treatment work?

Light is guided from the flash-lamp to the treatment  area in the correct wavelength.  The pigment (melanin) in your hair absorbs the light and converts it to heat.  This heat then disable the follicle to produce a new thick hair.  The most efficient treatment is seen with dark hair and lighter skin.  Ideally skin types 1-3 can successfully be treated with the Ellipse Flex System.

Q:  The difference between laser and Ellipse Flex Intense Pulsed Light (IPL).

Laser hair removal treatments and treatments wit IPL both work in the same way, choosing wavelengths that are absorbed by the target.  While a laser uses one given wavelength which is one color, one phase and one direction, this makes it more difficult to control and more difficult to guarantee optimal results.  Ellipse Flex IPL uses a broad spectrum of wavelengths which is made up of different colors, different phases and different directions.   This focuses on the problem at hand and guarantees results for more hair types, thin to thick hair as well as skin types, Skin type 1-3.  Using the Ellipse Flex IPL is like using a group of different lasers in one single treatment.

Q:  How can I be sure  Ellipse Flex IPL hair removal is safe and effective?

Ellipse Flex IPL Hair Removal has been clinically proven to be safe and effective through years of clinical trials and studies.  Ellipse Flex IPL carefully controls the amount of energy and pulses and delivers the desired energy in the optimal waveband for the treatment.  These factors explain why millions of treatments have been so successful and to such a high standard.

Q:  What are the treatment possibilities?

The Ellipse Flex IPL system treats many of the most common and most annoying skin problems:

1.  HAIR REMOVAL:  removal of excess hair on any part of the body

2.  THREAD VEINS:  removal of broken, blood filled capillaries

3.  PIGMENTED LESIONS:  brown pigmentation marks, such as freckles, superficial age spots and sun-damage skin

4.  INGROWN HAIR:  dramatically reduced and even disappear

Q:  Treatment regime:

1 treatment every 4-8 weeks, with an average of 6 required sessions.

Q:  What can the client expect as far as results with Ellipse Flex IPL for Hair Removal?

1.  The number of hair will become reduced in the treatment area.

2.  Hair will become finer in the treatment area.

3.  Hair will become less pigmented in the treatment area.

4.  If ingrown hairs are present in the treated area, it will become reduced and in some cases even disappear all together.

Q:  Does it hurt?

The treatment sensation varies from area to area and from patient to patient.  Most patients describe the sensation as quite moderate almost like the snapping of a rubber band accompanied by a heat sensation which only lasts for a short moment.

Q:  Do I need to take special precautions before and after treatments?

It is important not to remove hair by plucking, tweezing and waxing during the entire four weeks before and during treatments.  This ensure that many hair follicles contain a hair, thus be destroyed by the light.  It is important to avoid tanning before and during the treatment period (incl self tan creams and sun beds), to avoid the tanned skin from absorbing more light, which makes the treatment less effective.  Generally, no post-treatment care is necessary, but people with very sensitive skin may benefit from using a soothing aloe vera gel together with a sunscreen.  Sometimes an anti-histamine can be used to reduce the effects of folliculitis.

Ellipse Flex Intense Pulsed Light is a method of treating unwanted hair that may be a cause of hirsuitism, and other disorders.  Treatments like Ellipse Flex IPL will not cure any medical conditions causing unwanted hair.  The purpose of the treatment is to reduce hair growth by using the Ellipse Flex IPL to disable the hair follicle.  6 sessions required within 6-8 week period
